Former FC Volyn coach Vitaliy Kvartsianyi commented on Ukraine's 2-1 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Euro 2024 playoff semifinal on March 21.

Ukrainian national team manager Serhiy Rebrov's strategy dramatically changed the game and forced the Bosnians to make mistakes in defense, he said, according to Ukrainian sport news publication Sport-Express.

"Rebrov went all-in," said the legendary Ukrainian manager.

“His bet on two strikers paid off. The presence of two powerful forwards on the field, (Roman) Yaremchuk, who appeared at the end of the game, and (Artem) Dovbyk, whom he did not take off but left on the field, forced the Bosnians to make mistakes in defense. That is, we immediately saw their weaknesses in the center of defense. In the end, Ukraine dominated and could have scored the third goal. This match was a typical cup game, a knockout game. There was no quality of play, no pattern, but the result is the most important thing.”

Ukraine will face Iceland in the final of the playoffs for a ticket to Euro 2024. The match will take place on March 26.

Former national team coach Andriy Shevchenko earlier praised the victory of the Ukrainian side over the Bosnians.
