New reality show produced by Chip and Joanna Gaines filming in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A new live talent competition TV show is filming in Kansas City this month, and the community is invited to join in.

“Second Chance Stage,” produced by Magnolia Network (formerly DIY Network) and “Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines, will come to Kansas City this weekend.

REO Speedwagon to perform at Starlight Theatre this summer

The new show will feature talent from all over the country — musicians, comedians and more — performing for a second chance at their dream career.

The Kansas City community is invited to attend the free show as part of the audience. The first round runs from March 16-20 at the Kansas City Music Hall.

The finale is scheduled for March 26 at the Midland Theatre, and the public is also encouraged to pack the audience.

Everyone must register to attend here, but the event is still first come, first served. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the show starts at 6:15 p.m.

All audience members will be required to fill out a film release form, producers said, and there will be no exceptions.

Kansas City band Lost Wax will be the house band for the entire filming in Kansas City. KC-area residents might remember their electric performances from the 2023 NFL Draft.
