Read Derek Myers' full response to Enquirer questions

Congressional candidate Derek Myers provided the following statement in lieu of answering Enquirer questions about his past arrests. The Enquirer has not verified these statements and presents them in the interest of allowing readers to see the candidate's unedited response.

Everyone breaks the law, some of us are just smart enough to do it legally. Each and every arrest has been 100% dismissed. The only criminal conviction ever placed on Derek’s record is an obstruction charge, stemming from a speeding ticket where he was cited for driving 43/35; in which he told the deputy, who had political motivations that the newly-minted officer was not trained enough to handle someone of Derek’s caliber and that a supervisor should be sent to the traffic stop. As a result of not supplying a copy of a driver's license, Derek was cited and pleaded accordingly. This is a nation of laws; Derek obeys the law. In the words of his mentor and great friend, Roger Stone, “I will do anything necessary, short of breaking the law.”

Derek revels in your hate, because if he was not effective, you would not have an interest in or hate him. The only thing worse in politics than being wrong is being boring, as Richard Nixon would say.

From 2017 to 2019, Derek was under attack by a rogue police chief and corrupt mayor, who frankly, deserve to be in prison. A slew of corrupt charges were falsified against Derek, including narratives painting him to be a deviant sexual predator. Derek went to the FBI; all charges were dismissed; and the police chief and mayor were criminally charged. You probably don’t know about the blueprint where the chief had literal plans in his own handwriting to set Derek up and take him down, do you? It was seized in a search warrant raid conducted on the police department. Probably not, because you don’t do your research. You are playing in dangerous waters, my little friend. Derek successfully sued and settled a $2.5 million civil rights lawsuit against the men and their village. All charges from this time frame, please refer to the aforementioned.

As for charges in 2021, 2022, and 2023, they all had a common denominator: an incompetent complainant. All charges – again were dismissed. We have great police officers who serve us every day. Derek has been romantically involved with a law enforcement officer for several years and has full respect for the profession, however, there are some involved with big egos who let their stars and stripes get the better of them. There’s a bad avocado in every bunch. These bad people try to dethrone a King, but they lose every time.

Derek has several mugshots for sale, and you may buy them online as trading cards.

If you’re interested in the six dozen traffic citations Derek has received, you’re welcome to them, too.
