Read Cincinnati Public Schools' tentative settlement plan with departing superintendent

Outgoing Cincinnati Public Schools Superintendent Iranetta Wright will likely be paid through the end of her contract − which is up in July 2025 − upon her resignation effective Monday.

The Enquirer obtained the proposed settlement agreement between Wright and the district through an Ohio Public Records Act request. Wright signed the document Wednesday. The school board is set to approve it Monday.

If the settlement is approved, the district will pay Wright upwards of $260,000 in addition to payouts for unused vacation days and will continue to offer Wright health insurance, as well as dental and vision coverage until July 2025.

Wright agreed to resign after all six of the district's unions made votes of no confidence in her leadership. School board president Eve Bolton announced Wright's resignation Wednesday.

"While we understand that shifts of this magnitude can be unsettling, please know that the board remains dedicated to pursuing excellence in education and providing unwavering support to our students, staff, and stakeholders," Bolton read from a statement, included in the settlement agreement, at Wednesday's meeting. "We are united in our efforts to be an inclusive and collaborative school district and be a place where each and every student is valued, supported, empowered, and prepared to pursue their fullest potential."
