Read Across America Celebration in Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke City Public Library System is celebrating Read Across America this week. It launched on the birthday of beloved author Doctor Seuss – which was March 2nd. As part of the celebration, WFXR Sports Director Jermaine Ferrell was invited to go to the main library in downtown Roanoke Wednesday morning to read to kids from Shepherd’s Care Day School and Small Steps Learning Academy. The National Education Association launched Read Across America in 1998 as a year-round program to celebrate reading.
