RCSO looking for man wanted for failure to register as sex offender

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Reagan County Sheriff’s Office has asked for the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted for failing to comply with a sex offender’s duty to register.

According to RCSO, the individual is 41-year-old Brandon J. Guthrie. Information provided by the sheriff’s office describes Guthrie as standing at 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing 185 pounds and having brown hair with brown eyes.

Guthrie was last seen in Big Lake, Texas, on May 17 in a white 4-door Tesla vehicle with Texas registration SHL-4796. He was accompanied by a black male.

Under the right circumstances, failure to comply with a sex offender’s duty to register is considered a state jail felony as per the Texas Penal Code. A state jail felony is punishable with confinement in a state jail “for any term of not more than two years or less than 180 days,” a possible fine “not to exceed $10,000” and, in certain cases, a third-degree felony punishment.

RCSO asks anyone who knows of Guthrie’s whereabouts to call (325) 884-2424.
