CHILLICOTHE— For sixth, seventh and eighth-graders at Ross County Christian Academy the start of the school year has included a move to Calvary Baptist Church.

Middle school students previously attended school at the Intermediate School at the Lighthouse Baptist Church. Superintendent Dr. Valerie Jones said the partnership with Lighthouse for the middle school was very fruitful and she hopes this new partnership will be as well.

Pastor Robb Fowler said the church had multiple additions over the years, including one specifically to create a Christian school. The church, however, was never able to run a school, so this partnership with RCCA is perfect. He said he and many other members are excited to see what comes from this venture.

"Now is the time," said Fowler. "Our church family is very excited."

The church has a total of seven different classrooms and a gym, which some students and teams have already been using, as well as the ability to have lockers in the hallway for students to use between classes. With the new space Jones and principal Lindsay Ramey said they not only have more space for students but also room for new classes like creative writing and choir.

Over the summer the church and school have worked hard to create a space perfect for students. Fowler said he believes having people in the building daily will bring new energy to the church as well as help create new disciples for the Lord. Ramey is most looking forward to seeing how students interact with this new space that was made specifically for them this school year.
