The downward spiral that unfolded for the infamous former Baltimore Raven Ray Rice has been well documented by the media. The all-star running back Ray Rice parted ways with the Baltimore Ravens back in September of 2014 after a video had emerged of Ray Rice striking his fiancée on camera. The incident sent shockwaves through the league and society in general, shockwaves of domestic abuse and violence towards women in general.

Believed to be speaking for the first time at the Baltimore Ravens’ facility since his release from the squad in September of 2014, Rice delivered a message to the Baltimore Ravens’ rookies about his story of rise and fall from grace. The troubled, former player talked to the young team members about life lessons.

“[Rice] delivered an important message that included his story, both the good and the bad,” the Ravens said in a statement. “He clearly had the attention of our rookies.”

This speech and/or life lesson delivered by the former Pro-Bowler Ray Rice was one of how at any moment in your life, the wrong choice can have severe consequences. What was once a very strong professional career as a running back in the NFL turned into disaster for Ray Rice. Ray Rice clearly does not want others to turn down the path that he did when he struck his fiancée.

“I believe in my heart that Ray would be a great addition to us when it comes to trying to steer these guys from young men to grown men,” Bisciotti said in September 2014.

Bisciotti’s prayers that his young players will be steered in the right direction by Ray Rice’s mistakes could very well be answered following Rice’s strong lecture.
