Ratings: Fox’s ‘The Moodys’ Doesn’t Shine Nearly as Bright as NBC’s Christmas Tree Lighting

Hark! “The Masked Singer’s” angels sung, and Fox won another Wednesday in TV ratings. The network settled for third in total viewers, however, as a lackluster performance from “The Moodys” slightly dampened the mood.

NBC was second in ratings and first in total viewers, thanks to its two-hour Christmas tree lighting special.

Fox was first in ratings with a 1.2 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, but third in total viewers with an average of 4.7 million, according to preliminary numbers. “The Masked Singer” at 8 p.m. put up a 1.8/9 and 6.5 million viewers. The premiere of “The Moodys” at 9 had a 0.8/4 and 3.3 million viewers. A second episode of the (very) limited series at 9:30 got a 0.6/3 and 2.4 million viewers.

NBC was second in ratings with a 0.9/5 and first in viewers with 5.53 million. The two-hour “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” special, which started at 8, averaged a 1.1/5 and 6.9 million viewers. “Making It” at 10 received a 0.5/3 and 2.8 million viewers.

CBS was third in ratings with a 0.8/4 and second in viewers with 5.50 million. “Survivor” at 8 scored a 1.2/6 and 6.9 million viewers. At 9, “SEAL Team” had a 0.7/3 and 5.4 million viewers. A repeat followed.

ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.6/3 and in viewers with 3.2 million. At 8, “The Goldbergs” opened the night with a 0.8/4 and 4 million viewers. At 8:30, “Schooled” drew a 0.6/3 and 3.1 million viewers. “Modern Family” at 9 took a 0.9/4 and 3.8 million viewers. At 9:30, “Single Parents” got a 0.6/3 and 2.6 million viewers. At 10, “Stumptown” closed primetime with a 0.5/3 and 2.9 million viewers.

Telemundo and Univision tied for fifth in ratings, each with a 0.4/2. Univision was fifth in viewers with 1.2 million, Telemundo was sixth with 1 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 694,000. At 8, “Riverdale” received a 0.2/1 and 702,000 viewers. At 9, “Nancy Drew” closed things with a 0.2/1 and 685,000 viewers.
