Ratings: Fox’s ‘Beat Shazam’ and ‘Love Connection’ Premieres Top Thursday

Fox’s “Beat Shazam” debut beat everything else in its time slot in the key 18-49 demographic last night, and so did the network’s “Love Connection” premiere.

As a result, Fox finished first Thursday in the main demo, topping NBC’s Red Nose Day programming in the process. CBS was No. 1 among total viewers, despite airing mostly reruns.

Fox was first in ratings with a 1.1 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, but third in total viewers with an average of 3.5 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Beat Shazam” at 8 p.m. landed a 1.2/5 and 3.6 million viewers. “Love Connection” at 9 started off with a 1.1/4 and 3.4 million viewers.

NBC was second in ratings with a 0.9/4 and in viewers with 3.6 million. “American Ninja Warrior: Celebrity Edition” at 8 had a 1.1/5 and 4.2 million viewers. At 9, the Red Nose Day edition of “Running Wild With Bear Grylls” got a 0.9/4 and 3.9 million viewers. The actual “Red Nose Day” special at 10 received a 0.7/3 and 2.7 million viewers.

CBS was third in ratings with a 0.7/3, but first in viewers with 4.2 million. Following repeats, “The Amazing Race” at 10 managed a 0.6/2 and 3.6 million viewers.

ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in viewers with 2.4 million, airing all reruns.

Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in viewers with 1.4 million.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.4/1 and in viewers with 903,000.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 728,000, running just repeats.
