Ratings: ABC’s ‘How to Get Away With Murder’ Season Finale Grows, But CBS Tops Thursday

“How to Get Away With Murder” grew in ratings last night for the Shondaland show’s latest season finale, but it wasn’t enough for ABC to catch CBS on Thursday.

CBS was first in ratings with a 1.7 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 5.6 million, according to preliminary numbers. The network aired March Madness tournament games throughout primetime. Due to the nature of live sports, however, these fast-national Nielsen numbers for CBS are subject to adjustment.

ABC was second in ratings with a 1.3/5 and in viewers with 5.4 million. At 8, “Grey’s Anatomy” scored a 1.8/8 and 7.2 million viewers. At 9, “Scandal” put up a 1.1/4 and 4.9 million viewers. At 10, the season finale of “How to Get Away with Murder” earned a 1.0/4 and 4 million viewers.

NBC was third in ratings with a 0.8/3 and in viewers with 3.7 million. At 8, “Superstore” took a 1.0/4 and 3.9 million viewers. At 8:30, “A.P. Bio” had a 0.8/3 and 3 million viewers. At 9, “Will & Grace” posted a 1.2/5 and 4.7 million viewers. At 9:30, “Champions” got a 0.7/3 and 3 million viewers. At 10, the network aired a repeat of “Chicago Fire.”

Fox was fourth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in viewers with 2.5 million. At 8, “Gotham” settled for a 0.6/3 and 2.5 million viewers. At 10, “Showtime at the Apollo” managed a 0.6/2 and 2.6 million viewers.

Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in viewers with 1.6 million.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.4/2 and in viewers with 1.1 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 572,000. At 8, the special “Tough Mudder: Tougher Together” had a 0.2/1 and 596,000 viewers. At 9, the network aired a repeat of “Arrow.”
