Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) took issue with GOP witness Tony Bobulinski accusing Democrats, including himself and Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY), of being liars at the House Oversight Committee hearing on the Biden family Wednesday, causing a slightly chaotic moment in the room.

“We keep hearing from certain corners that our democracy is at risk and democracy’s on the ballot in ’24. Yet the same people preaching this mantra know better. They continue to lie directly to the American people without hesitation and remorse,” Bobulinski said in his opening statement. “Rep. Dan Goldman and Jamie Raskin, both lawyers, and Mr. Goldman, a former prosecutor with the SDNY from New York will continue to lie today in this hearing and then go straight to the media to tell more lies.”

Raskin interjected to question Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the panel’s chair, about decorum rules. “He called members of this committee liars,” Raskin complained.

“Am I supposed to say, ‘It’s my time, Mr. Raskin?’” Bobulinski said, in a manner that appeared to be tongue-in-cheek.

Members of the press reported that Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) shouted out to Bobulinski, “Keep going, you fool!”
