Ranking Dead: Ranking the Characters of ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7, Episode 7

It’s time for Ranking Dead, in which we give a power ranking of The Walking Dead’s characters after every episode and then tally up the points over the course of the season. This is how we’d rank the characters of episode 7.

5. Gabriel

We're totally on board with Gabriel giving Spencer the business. (AMC)

He’s been pretty quiet all season, but considering that this show has more than 20 characters, all featured here on these rankings, it’s not hard to understand why. We’re mostly tossing him this spot because he razzed Spencer, the guy who replaced Gabriel as the show’s biggest bummer.

4. Rosita

Rosita successfully bullied poor Eugene into making that bullet. (AMC)

Hey, remember that cool moment at the end of Episode 4 when Rosita asked Eugene to make her a bullet? Well, this episode followed that with several moments of Rosita still asking Eugene to make her a bullet. We don’t like her bullying our mullet-sporting buddy, but we do appreciate she’s actively trying to take out Negan.

3. Michonne

Note to self: Don't burn Michonne's mattress. (AMC)

Another one of The Walking Dead’s ladies who isn’t sitting back and letting Negan walk all over her is taking our third spot this week: Michonne. Her carjacking skills could use some finessing, but hey, ultimately she got the job done.

2. Carl

Oh, Carl. So close. (AMC)

Our runner-up this week is Carl. Oh, Carl. You started the episode with so much promise, tricking Jesus into jumping off the truck and mowing down a couple of Saviors. But then when you had the chance to kill Negan, ya choked. And then you had to get the world’s worst home tour, cried when Negan made fun of your missing eye, and you took him straight to your baby sister. Yikes!

1. Negan

Yep, Negan again. (AMC)
Yep, Negan again. (AMC)

And in first, yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s Negan again. That guy has some really solid plot armor. I mean, Carl, who was on a mission to kill him, had a gun pointed at Negan and didn’t pull the trigger. I guess he read that Jeffrey Dean Morgan is in the cast next season. Anyway, Negan’s still the most powerful, even if he’s making the odd decision of surrounding himself with people who loathe him.

Our worst of the week? Negan. Of course, he’s the worst. Did you even watch the episode?

And now, our overall power ranking for Season 7. Remember, the higher you rank the more points you get and it adds up.
