Rally planned in front of Manitowoc Social Security Administration building

MANITOWOC — A rally "to save Social Security" is planned for April 17 outside the Social Security Administration building on Mirro Drive in Manitowoc.

The demonstration is being held by the Wisconsin Alliance for Retired Americans, American Federation of Government Employees Council 220 and other partner organizations. It is part of a series of non-disruptive demonstrations planned throughout Wisconsin.

A news release from the American Federation of Government Employees Council 220 said the demonstrations are to "spread community awareness about the customer service challenges the employees, public and retirees face because of Social Security budget shortfalls over the last decade."

The demonstration will be at noon April 17 at the Social Security Administration building, 1603 Mirro Drive.
