RAINSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Rainsville Police Department and other DeKalb County agencies were involved in the arrest of two adults connected to the kidnapping of Tennessee kids who were the subject of an Amber Alert.

The two girls, 2-year-old Journey Garrett and 9-month-old Daley Garrett, were last seen in Shelbyville on Wednesday, March 13. They were believed to be with their non-custodial mother, 32-year-old Casey Campbell, in the area of Powell, Alabama.

An Amber Alert was issued on Monday, March 18, just after 7 p.m. Journey and Daley were located safely that same day.

The Rainsville Police Department (RPD) said officers received a tip from the Shelbyville Police Department (SPD) on Monday around 7:30 p.m. stating a U-Haul truck was at a Burger King in Rainsville and the two kidnapped children were possibly inside the truck.

When officers arrived, the department said they located Campbell and 26-year-old Charles Garrett with the two girls in the cab of the truck.

Campbell was wanted by the SPD for especially aggravated kidnapping, and RPD took her into custody. She was transported to the Rainsville Police Department Jail, awaiting extradition to Tennessee.

Charles Garrett was arrested for an outstanding warrant with the Scottsboro Police Department.
