Rain returns to Southern California’s forecast this weekend

The National Weather Service says Southern California will enjoy “Chamber of Commerce” weather conditions on Wednesday with clear skies and temperatures in the upper 70s and 80s across the region.

The mild weather continues for several days before a chance of rain returns to the forecast this weekend as a low pressure system connected to the jet stream dips into Southern California late Friday through Sunday.

“We’ll get gray clouds and threatening skies, but we may not see a lot of rain,” said KTLA 5 meteorologist Henry DiCarlo. “It will be more of  a light rain and a drizzle.”

Potential rainfall amounts range from a quarter-inch to an inch in the coastal areas and valleys, and up to 2 inches in the mountains and foothills, according to the Weather Service.
