Rain and possible thunderstorms in the forecast for Friday

Possible thunderstorms and more rain is supposed to occupy Northern New Jersey, according to National Weather Service.

The chance of precipitation is about 70% before 2 p.m. with a chance of more rainfall later in the afternoon as well. New rainfall amounts can fall between a tenth and quarter of an inch, but the NWS warns higher total can come from a thunderstorm.

Rain is less likely at night with a 20% chance of precipitation.

Temperatures will be cool with a high of 64 degrees and a low of 48 degrees. Winds will cause a colder atmosphere as a southwest wind will reach up to 18 to 23 miles per hour in the afternoon. The breeze will continue at night with a 17 miles per hour southwest wind.
