Rain claims second morning of Durban test

DURBAN (Reuters) - South Africa and India went to an early lunch after no play was possible due to rain in the morning session on day two of the second and final test at Kingsmead on Friday. The teams took lunch half-an-hour earlier at 1130 local time (0930 GMT) when it became clear that the steady rain would make play impossible in the morning. The inclement weather meant India were unable to add to their 181 for one from the first day that was also cut short to 61 overs due to bad light. With an 80 percent chance of rain predicted through the day there is a constant danger of a washout, but when the teams do finally make it back onto the field, Murali Vijay will resume on 91 and Cheteshwar Pujara on 58, the pair sharing an unbeaten second-wicket stand of 140. This test is the 166th and last for South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis who made his debut against England on the same ground in 1995. The first test of the series ended in a draw in Johannesburg on Sunday.
