Scattered showers and storms expected Friday

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — You’ll need an umbrella and our Live Alert 19 weather app out the door Friday afternoon and evening. Scattered showers and storms are expected.

Thunderstorms will remain in the forecast through Friday night, where heavy rain, frequent lightning, small hail and strong wind gusts will be possible.

The heaviest downpours will lead to ponding on the roads and localized flooding.

This weekend rain chances remain, though there will be some dry time. Saturday and Sunday will also bring thunderstorm chances but there should be some dry time to get outdoors. Keep in mind that the humidity is increasing starting Friday and the feels like temperatures into the weekend will be in the mid to upper 80s.
