Race Across the World's Stephen and Viv told Yahoo about their next huge adventure they are planning now they have completed the show.

The retired couple have got everyone talking with their appearance on Race Across the World from queue jumping to their naked spa scenes in Japan and more. Now filming is all over for them, the married contestants told Yahoo that they have planned a new journey in Canada inspired by their time on the BBC show.

Stephen told Yahoo: "We've decided we're going to go to Canada. I'm booking it."

It is no secret that Race Across the World has a huge impact on its contestants, with many celebrating the show for giving them a once in a lifetime opportunity. From this season, James changed his plans after competing on the show too.

Race Across the World has definitely influenced the way Stephen and Viv plan to travel in the future, however, they plan to break two of the key rules of the show when they go to Canada.

Stephen and Viv had to turn down money on Race Across the World due to the strict rules of the show's format - meaning they can only top up their funds by doing jobs along the way. Money won't be a problem when the couple head to Canada though as they plan to allow themselves to spend what they want. Plus, they are going to be keeping their mobile phones to hand - another big no no on the show.

Stephen said: "There were always certain criteria - you had to have hot water, a proper sit down toilet. We've recognised that we are capable of more diverse things.

"So we are more prepared to just jump on a bus and see what happens. Viv has historically always booked all the holidays. She loves being in charge, so she's always booked everything.

"But we've decided we're going to go to Canada. I'm booking it. We are just going to take a plane journey, hire an RV and go for a month. And that's the most rad thing that we've ever done on holiday. But this time, we will have our phones and some money with us. Makes a difference. We haven't booked it yet!"

The couple always loved going on holiday before Race but they weren't "necessarily well travelled". Canada is a great place for the couple to go and it is well-trodden ground of the race too. Race Across the World season three's trek took place across many parts of Canada and it was stunning.

Stephen and Viv fell even more in love with each other while filming the show. He said: "I'm going to say yes to that!" He further explained: "It gave us a chance to demonstrate our relationships of our skills and our strengths. It showed each other things, that we both knew were there but you don’t always get the chance to show that you can do it."

Viv enthused the show gave them a chance to create new memories together. In episode five, Viv reflected on her stroke that happened after the last time the retired couple went dolphin watching. On Race, they were given the opportunity to turn the bad memory into a good one when they saw the pink dolphins in Thailand. Viv told us: "We created a lot of new memories. It brought us closer together through shared experience."

Stephen and Viv have proven themselves to be fierce competitors in the race. Hot on the heels of siblings Better and James, they came second in the latest leg at the checkpoint in the paradise islands of Koh Phi Phi. The married couple narrowly beat best friends Alfie and Owen to the checkpoint by seconds after a nail-biting boat race.

Now in episode six, Stephen and Viv will leave the checkpoint in second place - giving them a head start above the best friends as well as mother and daughter pairing Eugenie and Isabel. They must leave Thailand behind in this episode to make the 2,000km journey across Malaysia to Indonesian island of Sumatra.

In our exclusive, Stephen had teased what the future of Race Across the World holds for the couple. He said: "It's all to play for. Let's put it that way. There's so much going on in the next couple of weeks. It's ups and downs, rounds and bounds. There's so much to do."
