It’s the height of the summer travel season, and airline passengers are traveling with smartphones, laptops, wireless headphones, and other electronic devices. What do all those devices have in common? Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.

While Li-ion batteries are generally very safe, on rare occasions they catch fire or even explode. The number of incidents last year was 400 percent higher than in 2013, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Last fall, the FAA banned Samsung Galaxy Note7 smartphones after they were recalled due to battery fires.

Do you understand the risks, and know how to stay safe? This quiz can help.
