Quik-E-Mart owner casually fights off thief with baseball bat
An everyday hero, known only as Denise, fought off a lump-of-wood wielding thief with her own baseball bat Tuesday.
Denise was working at the Coorparoo Quik-e-mart in Brisbane, Australia when the would-be armed robber marched into the store. He didn't get far before she leapt into action.
In an interview with 7 News Brisbane, Denise told the reporter the perpetrator "sort of gave it to me, I just gave it to him."
The business owner managed to hit the man twice, she reflected, adding that the criminal, who is still wanted by police, "will be feeling it tonight." The thief also hit her several times before fleeing the scene, leaving Denise with a bruise.
