Queen of Tarts expanding into Wayne County

Aug. 9—As Donna Groysman continues to expand Queen of Tarts Desserts, the next move involves a return to its roots.

About 16 months after establishing a storefront location in Archbald, Groysman plans to team up with the business' first vendor — SoulWorks Collective — to bring sweet and savory treats to Wayne County.

Groysman launched a mobile trailer in July and announced Queen of Tarts Mobile Dessert Bar Co. will establish a presence in Salem Twp. beginning Aug. 23 each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and some Saturdays and Sundays.

Finn Malakin, owner of SoulWorks Collective, looks forward to having Groysman bring breakfast bites to the facility.

"We have a wonderful collective at SoulWorks," she said. "It's a place where people commune. There is a tea room downstairs where we serve lots of lovely beverages, but we don't serve any food. Now, she'll be adding that element of delicious food. It's just another reason for people to connect in a soulful way."

The dessert bar will serve breakfast sandwiches, croissants, bagels, turnovers and gelato. Additionally, SoulWorks features Queen of Tarts' breakfast pastries.

Groysman also plans to bring more savory treats like bacon, egg and cheese turnovers to the Archbald storefront.

"I think there is a huge market for food," she said. "I'm all about attacking at every angle and that's exactly what we're going to do."

She believes the Wayne County location offers an opportunity to better serve a significant number of customers.

"We see potential up there," Groysman said. "We have quite a few cakes coming from up that way and we're going to use our mobile bar as a pilot location to not only serve Wayne County but also as a pickup location for cakes."

Groysman looks forward to further collaborations with Malakin at SoulWorks.

"It's all woman-owned, so it will be a bunch of ladies chasing their dreams," she said.

Despite a big push toward sandwiches, Groysman stressed the attention to detail with sweets will remain the same.

"We're not going to lose our originality with our baked goods, we're just going to integrate savory into some things we already offer," she said.
