Jarrett Guarantano, the nation's No. 6 dual-threat quarterback according to 247Sports, committed to Tennessee on Wednesday afternoon.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound junior picked Tennessee over two other finalists: Ohio State and Rutgers.

A veteran of the recruiting circuit since the eighth grade, Guarantano held nearly three dozen offers in total.

As a junior at Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.) last fall, he threw for 1,030 yards and nine touchdowns, while rushing for an additional 258 yards and four scores.

He played in only seven games after suffering a season-ending wrist injury in October.

Guarantano instantly becomes Tennessee's top-ranked recruit at No. 131 overall nationally in the 247Composite. He'll likely serve as a cornerstone to the Vols' 2016 recruiting class.
