Putin’s former classmate sole candidate for Russian Supreme Court chair

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin continues the practice of nepotism, giving away top positions to the people from his inner circle, The Insider wrote on April 1.

After the death of the permanent head of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Lebedev, on Feb. 24, the only candidate for this position was his deputy, Irina Podnosova. According to The Insider, she studied at the university with the Russian dictator back in 1975.

Her appointment has already been supported by the Higher Qualification Collegium of Judges.

Podnosova's candidacy must be approved by the Federation Council, but it is undoubtedly certain that Putin's protégé will not encounter any problems with this.

In addition, since she already works in the Supreme Court, she will not have to take a qualification exam.

"Irina Podnosova graduated from the Law Faculty of Leningrad State University with a degree in jurisprudence," the Insider wrote.

"Future President Putin studied with her. Both graduated from the university in 1975. Also, in March, it became known that the son of Putin's friend Boris Kovalchuk was appointed as deputy Head of the Presidential Control Department."
