Purdue WR Deion Burks carted off field with neck injury, released from hospital
Late in Purdue football's Citrus Bowl loss to LSU, receiver Deion Burks seemed to bang his head hard on the turf after a fourth-down completion.
He stayed down on the field until Purdue trainers and medical staff could get to him. Once there, they immobilized his neck and called for a backboard and stretcher as the Boilermakers team surrounded him.

As Burks was loaded onto the cart, you could hear teammates clap and say "I love you, man."
Purdue Football released a statement a little after 6 p.m., Monday:
"Deion Burks has movement in all extremities. Due to neck pain, precautionary measures were taken to stabilize him after the injury. He was taken to a local hospital, where he will be fully evaluated and undergo additional testing."
An hour later, Purdue announced: "All medical scans were normal, and Deion is feeling better. He has been discharged from the hospital."
Jersey was cut off and neck stabilizer on his head.
