‘Public safety matter’ shuts down local city hall

BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) – Bedford Heights’ City Hall is closed on Monday, April 15 due to a gas line leak.

According to a Sunday evening post on the City of Bedford Heights Facebook page, the leak was discovered over the weekend near the fire department driveway, which is located in the same building as city hall and the city’s police department.

The city’s post read, “We apologize for the inconvenience, however this is a public safety matter that we take very seriously.”

There’s been no word on changes to operations at the police and fire departments.

The leak is expected to be repaired on Monday and City Hall is anticipated to reopen to the public on Tuesday, April 16, according to the post.
