Public meeting on Hawthorne Park improvements

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The City of Grand Junction is hosting a public meeting on May 30 to get input on the potential improvements to Hawthorne Park.

The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. in the shelter at Hawthorne Park.

The city also has a survey community members can complete to share their priorities for improving the park. The survey will be available on the city’s website and closes May 23. Paper copies will also be available at the May 30 meeting.

The input received will inform the city’s recommendations to the city council. Officials say even though there’s funding allocated in the 2024 budget for improvements to Hawthorne Park, the process to finalize improvements will most likely carry into 2025; if that happens, funding for park improvements would be considered for the 2025 budget.

For more information on the project and to submit your input, visit the city’s website.
