PSP: Two dead after multi-car crash caused by speeding, rain

WAYNE TWP., SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report two people have been killed in a two-car crash caused by speeding and rain conditions.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on Friday around midnight, a crash occurred on State Route 183 in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County.

Police say the car was traveling at high speed when the driver lost control due to the rainy conditions on the roadway.

Shooting investigation underway in Luzerne County

The driver traveled into the northbound lane causing a collision with another car, PSP said.

The driver of the first car, Nathan Reedy, 23, of Schuykl Havn, and the passenger, Italia Deering, 19, of Auburn, were pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Schuylkill County Coroner.

The second car driver, a 56-year-old woman from Pottsville was taken to the hospital for suspected minor injuries.
