If Ukraine's partners want peace, they must continue to provide Ukraine with military aid, French President Emmanuel Macron said on May 26 while visiting Germany to meet with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Tagesschau reported.

Macron warned against softening support for Ukraine while it continues to battle Russian aggression, saying that being on the side of peace today means "giving the force of law."

"Peace is not surrender, peace is not a rejection of principles," Macron said.

"Peace means giving the country the opportunity to defend its borders and sovereignty"

Aid to Ukraine should not decrease, Steinmeier added.
