Protesters Storm German Embassy in Sudan

Protestors stormed the German embassy in Sudan on Friday and raised the Islamic flag inside the compound, Reuters reported.

Roughly 5,000 demonstrators beset the German and British embassies in Sudan to protest the anti-Islam film, made in the United States, that sparked violence in Libya and Egypt earlier this week, according to Reuters. 

Several news outlets are reporting that protesters started fires near the embassies, which are next to each other, but CNN reported no embassy personell were believed to be inside. 

Sudanese police fired teargas to stop the protesters, who hurled stones at the embassies and tried to storm their main gates.
