Protesters Push Against Police Line at UW-Madison

Protesters pushed back against a police line on the University of Wisconsin’s Madison campus on Wednesday, May 1.

Videos filmed by Skylar Croy show a crowd of protesters facing off against police on Library Mall and standing with arms linked chanting, “Biden, Biden, you can’t hide. We charge you with genocide.”

Police were on campus on Wednesday to remove a tent encampment set up by the protesters, reports said. Law enforcement reportedly gave warnings before dismantling the tents and making several arrests. A statement from the university on Monday said the tents violated administrative code.

According to Croy, who was on the scene, the protesters began setting up tents again shortly after police left.
