Protesters Bring a Dance Party and Mariachi Music to Racist Lawyer Aaron Schlossberg’s Apartment

That’s gotta sting for someone who hates Spanish so much.

Anti–Spanish-language lawyer Aaron Schlossberg continues to be a living example of why it doesn't pay to be loudly racist in public. Schlossberg achieved infamy this week after a video of him accosting restaurant employees went viral. In it, he delivered a racist and expletive-filled rant after hearing employees speaking Spanish to another customer, insisting that in America people have to speak English (they don't) and that he was positive they were undocumented (he couldn't have been). He even threatened to call ICE, because in his mind speaking Spanish in public is an arrest-worthy offense.

Condemnation was swift: Corners of the Internet quickly tracked down Schlossberg's self-named law firm, and his landlord has seen fit to terminate his office lease. Schlossberg, in response to the attention, has tried hiding under an umbrella and literally sprinting away from reporters. But people have found even more elaborate, crime-appropriate, Dante's Inferno-esque punishments for the bigoted lawyer. Specifically, they threw a protest-cum-party outside of his apartment.

But the real stroke of genius/trolling, was the appearance of a mariachi band.

It really is Schlossberg's own bad judgment that's to blame for all of this. After all, if he had just written his rant instead of yelling it on video, he'd already have been offered a gig as a "reasonable conservative" columnist for The New York Times or The Atlantic. Instead he's just an office-less lawyer who probably hates Coco.
