Protesters blocked I-405 traffic at Fremont Bridge in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Protesters blocked traffic in both directions on I-405 on the Fremont Bridge at Everett Saturday afternoon, ODOT traffic cameras showed.

The bumper to bumper traffic jam began at around 2:30 p.m. and extended from the south end of the Fremont Bridge to the southbound lanes of Interstate 5, even reaching Rosa Parks Way, according to ODOT.

Vehicles were able to to slowly crawl past in the far right lane and dozens of protesters have stepped out of their car waving flags.

The protesters left around 4:30 p.m., allowing traffic to move freely again.
