KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — A medic in the embattled Ukrainian capital says 32 protesters have died in the latest chaotic battles with police in Kiev.
Protest medic Andriy Huk told The Associated Press that the activists died Thursday. Earlier, an AP reporter saw 21 bodies laid out on the edge of the sprawling protest camp in Kiev.
In addition, Ukrainian authorities say one policeman was killed and 28 suffered gunshot wounds Thursday.
The carnage appears to show that neither President Viktor Yanukovych nor the opposition leaders he met with Wednesday appear to be in control of the chaos engulfing Ukraine
