A Peoria land deal that will eventually lead to a Maui Jim expansion has been completed.

The 80-acre property at 8603 N. Allen Road was sold for $4 million by Meijer Grocery Stores to Maui Jim, which is now operated by parent company Kering Eyewear.

Meijer first purchased the land in 2017 with plans to build a grocery store, but that never came to fruition.

Maui Jim has plans for an $80 million expansion in the Medina Plains TIF district that includes the construction of a 150,000-square-foot facility.
