Jalen Ramsey has been saying pretty much whatever he wants this summer, but this might be the most ambitious claim he has made to date.

After ripping apart nearly every quarterback in the NFL, the star cornerback seems to be looking for more of a challenge. One that apparently involves him lacing up a pair of skates.

The 23-year-old recently told Mina Kimes from ESPN the Magazine that he believes he could make it as a pro hockey player.

“He’s never tried skating, but if he trained for six months, he says, he could probably crack the NHL.”

Do I sense a documentary series in the works here? It would be the perfect crossover for HBO, combining “Hardknocks” with “NHL 24/7” in a series that documents Ramsey’s journey to pro hockey (if he ever even gets there, which, let’s face it, isn’t likely to happen). They could title it ‘From corner to crossbar,’ but probably not. It’s a working title (please don’t steal my idea, HBO).

If Ramsey were to hypothetically make the NHL, this would be even more impressive than Bo Jackson playing in both the NFL and MLB, right? Considering the massive crossover both sports have as far as seasons go, being able to play hockey on Saturday night and then playing football on Sunday would be a really impressive test of athletic ability.

Nonetheless, it’s pretty entertaining to see an athlete who’s as confident as Ramsey is with his words. If the NFL All-Pro plays anything near the level he did last year, there’s a good chance he will be able to back them up.
