Principal stops suicidal schoolgirl from jumping off 17-story building

Heart-stopping footage recorded in China shows an elementary school principal stopping a suicidal student from jumping off the ledge of a 17-story building.

The severely-depressed student was reportedly teetering on the edge of a building's rooftop in Duyun, Guizhou Province, for minutes before emergency responders arrived at the scene, according to Shanghaiist.

Firefighters and family members of the girl reportedly tried to diffuse the situation, but the schoolgirl became more agitated and yelled at them to go away.

Eventually, the young girl's principal approached her to try and talk her down from her dangerous position.

When he saw that his subtle attempts were not working, he sprang into action with a daring move that ultimately saved the girl's life.

In an incredible video recorded by firefighters, the unnamed principal can be seen leaning over a railing to grab the girl by her uniform shirt, yanking her back to safety just in time.

Although she apparently lived through the rooftop ordeal, the girl's current condition remains unknown.
