Princeton sidewalk construction continues as crews work to make traversal easier

PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — Sidewalk work is keeping crews busy in the city of Princeton.

The Straley Avenue and Thorn Street sidewalk project was announced back in March of 2023. City leaders say the work is going smoothly with only a few minor delays due to bad weather. Princeton City Manager Mike Webb said they will finish the project on time.

“The sidewalk construction going on on Thorn Street as well as up on Straley Avenue are in midway at least at this point. They look to be completed by July at the latest with the two projects going at the same time. We’re looking forward to it; they’re showing great signs of the changes going on in the sidewalks,” said Webb.

Webb said the city plans more work for other sidewalks in town, naming areas like Rogers Street and High Street as potential locations for future projects.

He said the city is focused on bettering its infrastructure with their remaining grant money.
