Prince Harry Opens Up About Princess Diana's Death

From ELLE

Prince Harry was only 12 years old when his mother, Princess Diana, was killed in a car crash in 1997. But he didn't talk about how much her death affected him until three years ago.

He recently spoke at an event for Heads Together, the mental health charity he created with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, about regrets he has over waiting so long to speak out.

"You know, I really regret not ever talking about it," he told the BBC. "It is okay to suffer, but as long as you talk about it. It is not a weakness. Weakness is having a problem and not recognizing it and not solving that problem."

In turn, some of the event attendees opened up to the prince about their own difficult losses.

The prince said: "A lot of people think if you've got a job, if you've got financial security, if you've got a family, you've got a house, all that sort of stuff, everyone seems to think that is all you need and you are absolutely fine to deal with stuff."
