Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's dream wedding guest list: Could Serena Williams and Jack Whitehall be invited?

It will undoubtedly be one of the weddings of the year when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot next spring.

A host of celebrities and politicians were in attendance at his brother Prince William‘s April 2011 wedding to wife Duchess Catherine – but who will be invited to Harry and Meghan’s nuptials?

One of Meghan’s good friends is tennis supremo Serena Williams, so she looks set to be on the guest list, but will she be able to convince the pair to schedule their nuptials around the Grand Slam tennis schedule next year?

Serena could be a good person to talk to about weddings, though, as she tied the knot at her very own star-studded bash earlier this month with the likes of Beyonce and Kim Kardashian in attendance.

Meghan once said of Serena: “She quickly became a confidante I would text when I was travelling, the friend I would rally around for her tennis matches, and the down-to-earth chick I was able to grab lunch with.”

The 36-year-old actress is known for being one of the stars of US TV drama Suits so it is likely some of her co-stars will be in attendance.

Patrick J Adams, who plays lawyer Mike Ross, her on-screen love interest, once described his relationship with Meghan as like “brother and sister”.

Some of Meghan’s other actress friends, Priyanka Chopra, Janina Gavanka, and Abigail Spencer may also need to buy a new hat soon.

What’s more, Harry’s celeb pals, who include actor Dominic West, TV presenters Natalie Pinkham and Ben Fogle, and singer Joss Stone could be in attendance.

Harry’s friend and comedian Jack Whitehall is also clearly keen to land a spot on the flame-haired prince’s stag do.

Following yesterday’s announcement of the pair’s engagement, Jack tweeted: “1. When is the stag do? 2. Can I come? (sic)”

One way Jack could go to Harry’s bash is by signing up to the Prince Harry’s Stag Do Facebook page, which has gone viral after 33,000 people indicated they are attending the event.

The comical page jokes that the “Bunga Bunga Prince’s” stag is taking place from May 10-12, 2018 somewhere in London, and there is also a link to a similar page, Meghan Markle’s Bachelorette Party.

Sadly, for Meghan, only just over 1,000 people are listed as going to her bash at the time of writing.

But if Harry needs to trim his real-life wedding guest list of dignitaries, one person who could help is his brother Prince William, who went to his grandmother Queen Elizabeth for advice about the issue.

He previously said: “I went to [the Queen] and said, ‘Listen, I’ve got this list, not one person I know. What do I do?’

“And she went, ‘Get rid of it. Start from your friends and then we’ll add those we need to in due course. It’s your day.’ ”

It’s not known where the wedding will take place, but Windsor Castle is the ‘ hot favourite, priced at 1/25 with online bookie Betfair, well clear of Westminster Abbey – where William and Catherine married – at 5/1.

Katie Baylis, Betfair Spokesperson, said: “Windsor Castle was at odds of 2/1 before the engagement announcement yesterday to be the venue for the royal wedding, behind Westminster Abbey.

“But we’ve seen a flurry of bets on Windsor Castle and it is now the 1/25 favourite, with Westminster Abbey at 5/1 and St Paul’s at 6/1, with speculation the less informal St George’s Chapel would suit the down-to-earth couple more than the pomp and ceremony of the Abbey.”

Both of the happy couple’s main family members, such as their parents, and Queen Elizabeth, will of course be in attendance.

However, one person who may not be on the guest list is Meghan’s ex Trevor Engelson, who she was married to from 2011 to 2013.

According to Deadline, Trevor is working on a pilot for a show about a guy’s ex-wife who goes on to marry a prince. Sound familiar? But in this story, the guy has to share custody of his kids with his wife and the royal.

Trevor is said to have got the idea from a chat with producer Dan Farah about what would’ve happened if he and Meghan had children.

Meghan and Trevor met in 2004 and got engaged in 2010 before tying the knot in a 12-minute ceremony in September 2011. Their wedding celebrations last four days and included drinking games on the beach.

But they split two years later and their divorce was finalised in August 2013, with the pair citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason.
