Have Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Been Planning Their Royal Baby for a While?
News of Meghan Markle pregnancy should come as no surprise, as it seems the royal couple has been talking about babies for a while.
Over the years, Prince Harry has spoken out about his love for children and his desire to start a family, but had always said they were waiting for the right moment.
During a July appearance in Dublin, just two months after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were married, a fan called out, “My husband also has red hair and he gave me five children — when are you and Meghan going to get going?”
"He laughed and said, 'Five children? Too many,'" fan Elaine Adam-Stewart told People.com.
The official announcement of a new royal baby came Monday from Kensington Palace.
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public,” the palace said in a statement.
Speculation of the new addition has been brewing for weeks.
On Friday, Meghan wore a loose navy coat to Princess Eugenie of York's wedding, leading many to wonder whether the billowing outfit was covering a royal baby bump.
Last month, Meghan sported a blue Jason Wu dress with ruffles that suspiciously draped over her midsection.
