Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Had a Glamorous Weekend with the Clooneys in Lake Como

George and Amal are known for inviting their A-list pals to indulge and relax at Villa Oleandra, their private getaway in Lake Como

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are winding down their summer in style. The royal couple recently spent the weekend with high-profile pals George and Amal Clooney at their Italian villa in Lake Como, according to multiple reports. The Italian media notes that local police helped to secure the newlyweds’ visit to the 18th-century Villa Oleandra—the Clooneys’ private residence—which took place between Thursday evening and Sunday night. Once at the lake house, Markle reportedly helped look after the Clooneys’ 10-month-old twins while Harry and George played basketball with a few other friends. And on Saturday evening, Clooney reportedly held a gala dinner for the royals and a few other close friends; 15 pals were in attendance, and the party was said to have gone on into the early hours of Sunday morning.

Though the friendship may seem initially surprising, the duke and duchess and the Clooneys are actually longtime friends, with both Amal and Meghan sharing the same celebrity stylist, Miguel Perez, and Harry and George crossing paths from time to time with their respective charity work. In May, George and Amal attended the royal wedding and reveled in a fun evening with 200 other guests at the royal residence Frogmore House. In addition to their weekend getaway at Lake Como, the new couple has been spending their downtime at their Oxfordshire home, and are expected to make a trip over to Balmoral Castle, the Queen’s residence in Scotland, later this month.
