Prince Harry Arrives With Best Man Prince William for the Royal Wedding 2018

They’re here! Prince Harry has officially made his grand entrance into his wedding. The groom entered by foot into the ceremony venue of St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on Saturday, May 19, ahead of Meghan Markle’s scheduled arrival for the couple’s wedding ceremony.

Harry wore a decorated military uniform with a slightly bearded face as he strolled into the venue. Best man William was also dressed in traditional uniform.

“Both Prince Harry and The Duke of Cambridge will wear the frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals,” the palace announced. “Her Majesty The Queen gave her permission for Prince Harry to get married in his uniform. Both uniforms were tailored at Dege & Skinner on Savile Row.”

Moments before the brothers entered into the venue, royal family members walked into the venue.

The evening before the ceremony, Harry and his brother greeted fans lined up outside of the castle grounds. Following the surprise meet-and-greet, the groom and his best man stayed at the Dorchester Collection’s Coworth Park in Windsor.

Markle and her mother, Doria Ragland, remained at a different hotel property called the Cliveden House. The palace announced Friday that she would be walked down the aisle by Prince Charles after her father was no longer able to walk the bride down the aisle due to numerous concerns.

Kensington Palace announced in late April that William would be serving as Harry’s best man. “Prince Harry has asked his brother The Duke of Cambridge to be his Best Man at his wedding to Ms. Meghan Markle,” the palace tweeted. “Prince Harry served as best man to The Duke of Cambridge at his wedding to Miss Catherine Middleton in 2011. The Duke of Cambridge is honored to have been asked, and is very much looking forward to supporting his brother at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor on May 19th.”

This is just one of the ways Harry and Markle have opted to break tradition with their wedding day. The two have also asked high fashion florist Philippa Craddock to design the space with a whimsical, but classic display of peonies, white roses and foxgloves along with sustainably-sourced branches of beech and birch. The two have also opt4ed for a lemon elderflower cake on their wedding day as opposed to the traditional dried fruitcake.
