Preposterous! Putin claims Russia created Belgium

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin continued spreading his preposterous views of history as he stated that Belgium's existence as an independent nation is largely due to Russia, making the boast to World Youth Festival participants on March 6.

"Belgium, as you probably know, owes its presence on the world map largely to Russia," Putin stated.

He also claimed that Russia has its "own history of relations" with many countries around the world.

The Russian dictator earlier has repeatedly presented his distorted view of Ukrainian history. Memorably, Putin rambled on about it for about 25 minutes during an interview with American propagandist Tucker Carlson.

In Putin’s fantastical "history," Ukrainians were named by Poles, and Ukraine was "created" either by the Bolsheviks, Lenin, or Stalin, though he couldn’t decide on which.
