Pregnant woman seriously injured after being hit by car near Independence Ave.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A pregnant female was seriously injured after a crash in Kansas City on Saturday afternoon.
A silver Ford Focus was traveling westbound on Independence Ave. in the number one lane of travel.

The pregnant female was on the south side of Independence Avenue as she began crossing to the north side.
She was mid-block, just west of Garfield, after getting off the KCATA bus.
The woman was then hit by the Ford, causing her to hit the windshield and then the front end of the Ford.
She was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Ford was uninjured.
