Continuing our newest series, we will continue taking a look at the Miami Dolphins potential depth chart. I will again be doing my best to help sort out what the Dolphins’ depth chart could look like entering the final weeks of the pre-season and heading into the regular season.

While some days we will only take a look at multiple positional group, today we will take a good long look at one of the most important offensive groups. Arguably the most talented group on the Dolphins’ roster, the wide receiver position for Miami is stacked to say the least.

Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills and others all give the Dolphins of the best receiving corps in all of the NFL. The only real question, how will they be lining up during the upcoming season.

Wide Receiver

Entering the 2016 NFL season the Miami Dolphins will have one of the most stacked receiving corps in the league. With new head coach Adam Gase hopefully going to help improve the play of quarterback Ryan Tannehill, the receiving corps will likely become a key part of any offensive success the Dolphins have this season.

Leading the unit will be Jarvis Landry. One of the best receivers in the NFL for yards after catch, Landry will be lining up in the slot most downs for the Miami offense. The number one target, look for Landry to again eclipse the 100-catch milestone again this season on his way to another stellar year.

Second but not any less important, second-year pro DeVante Parker. Hampered by injuries for most of his rookie campaign, Parker came on strong at the end of last season. Recording three touchdowns as well as a handful of highlight reel catches, Parker will be the Dolphins big man downfield this season.

Though he did not have a great season last year with the Dolphins, Kenny Stills should retain his spot as the team’s third string receiver. Though he will not be on the field for every down, Stills should lineup on the outside opposite Parker when he is called upon. Where Parker would be nicknamed smash, Stills can be his dash thanks to his solid speed.

Looking at the rest of the depth chart for the wide receiver position, it looks mostly to be a mish-mosh at this point. Rookie’s Leonte Carroo and Jakeem Grant both are expected to compete for the fourth string role while veteran Matt Hazel could give the Dolphins a solid experienced option on passing downs.

However, with Carroo and Grant both being draft picks, I will be looking for the rookies to get the nod with Carroo coming out on top and Grant almost certainly battling to take over the kick and punt return duties.
