Power outage reported at Fashion Fair in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A power outage that impacted several of the businesses at Fashion Fair in Fresno was reported by PG&E on the utility’s outage map Thursday afternoon.

According to PG&E’s outage map, the areas impacted were primarily those within the Fashion Fair site, south of Shaw Avenue and east of First Street. PG&E reported that 12 customers were affected, but that number generally relates to the number of bill-payers in the area – instead of the number of people impacted by the power outage.

The utility company said that it is investigating the cause of the outage, which was first reported at 11:35 a.m.

Witnesses say several restaurants along Shaw Avenue, including Chick-fil-A, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, the Cheesecake Factory and Fleming’s were all without electricity. Additionally, the street light at the intersection of Shaw Avenue and First Street was also not working correctly.

As of 4:20 p.m., power had been restored to the site.
