PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — On March 14, which has been dubbed Pi Day, many mathematicians commemorate the mathematical constant of 𝜋 which is equal to 3.141592. The holiday has also turned into an excuse to indulge in pizzas, pies and other round foods.

If you’re in a celebratory mood, these Portland restaurants and grocery stores provide the treats for the occasion.

Bipartisan Cafe

Found in the Montavilla neighborhood, Bipartisan Cafe slings sandwiches, coffee, bagels and handmade pies. On Thursday, customers will get a $1 discount on each slice. Some featured flavors include apple, cherry, marionberry and peach.

Caffe Destino

Caffe Destino will sell whole pies, with flavors ranging from key lime to butterscotch. The cafe also has breakfast burritos, bowls, salads, sandwiches and smoothies.

Lauretta Jean’s

Location: 3402 SE Division St, Portland, OR 97202

One of Portland’s favorite dessert shops will offer exclusive, one-day-only pie flavors such as banoffee, rocky road and monster. Customers can also purchase a mystery box with three slices for $14.

New Seasons Market

If you’d prefer to eat a savory meal on Pi Day, New Seasons Market will sell Rao’s frozen pizzas for just $3.14 each. The brand, named after the New-York-based Italian restaurant, has brick-oven cheese pizzas, vegetable pizzas, pepperoni pizzas and meat-lovers pizzas.

Pie Spot

Location: 6935 NE Glisan St, Portland, OR 97213 and 521 NE 24th Ave, Portland, OR 97232

Although pick-up orders have closed, customers can still grab one of the Pie Spot’s mini desserts while supplies last. Current pie offerings include chocolate hazelnut, lemon vanilla bean and blueberry ginger.

Shari’s

Location: Multiple locations

Throughout the day, this Pacific Northwest comfort food chain will sell pie slices to dine-in and takeout guests for $3.14 throughout the day. Shari’s pie selection features s’mores, coconut cream and peanut butter chocolate.

Zupan’s Market will offer an almost $5 discount on frozen pies from Oregon-based brand Blue Raeven. For pizza lovers, the grocery store is also selling fresh and frozen pizza dough, pepperoni and pizza sauce for $3.14 each.
