PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Portland-filmed Brian Cox movie that shut down the Hawthorne Bridge last spring can now be watched in your living room.

“Little Wing” — starring “Succession” lead Cox, “The Florida Project” actress Brooklynn Prince and “Yellowstone” star Kelly Reilly — is available to stream on Paramount+ starting Wednesday.

Inspired by journalist Susan Orlean’s The New Yorker article of the same name, the film centers on a 13-year-old named Kaitlyn, portrayed by Prince, who is struggling with the news of her parents’ divorce. The teen could also lose her childhood home because her mother owes $100,000 on the property.

“I’m in a period of emotional upheaval,” Kaitlyn said in the trailer. “I mean, just ask the school therapist.”

Her best friend and classmate Adam, played by “Me Time” actor Che Tafari, then informs her of a pigeon racer in their hometown of Portland who owns a bird worth $120,000. With Adam’s help, Kaitlyn devises a plan to steal the bird and pay off her home.

But after she meets pigeon racer Jaan, portrayed by Emmy-Award-winning Cox, she decides to help him find the bird. In the process, she learns more about the sport of pigeon racing and forms a bond with Jaan.

“I was sure my life was a flock of birds and I could feel them flying away, but everything can be alright as long as you’re not alone,” Jaan told her in the trailer.

Paramount+ and subsidiary production company Awesomeness announced “Little Wing” in April 2023, just before filming began in Portland.

Locals will recognize some familiar settings, namely the Hawthorne Bridge that closed for production last year.
